OARnet and Tenable: Strengthening Cybersecurity Readiness Across Ohio’s Education and Public Sectors
To strengthen cybersecurity readiness and collaboration across Ohio’s education and public sectors, the Ohio Academic Resources Network (OARnet) launched a strategic cybersecurity risk-reduction initiative in partnership with Tenable.
Launched in 2022, this collaboration has enabled nearly 50 higher education institutions, K–12 Information Technology Centers, and libraries across Ohio to gain deeper visibility into the cyber threats targeting their digital environments.
According to OARnet’s Chief Relationship Officer, David Ginn, the program has exceeded expectations, “The opportunity to work with Tenable over the last four years has resulted in tangible improvements in cybersecurity awareness, readiness, and collaboration across Ohio’s educational ecosystem.”
OARnet’s mission and the need for centralized security
OARnet plays a critical role in advancing technology capabilities for Ohio’s higher education, K–12 schools, state agencies, and local governments.
